Webinar: deep dive into Just Share’s 2025 asset manager responsible investment benchmark

The Just Share Asset Manager Responsible Investment Benchmark is the first comprehensive benchmark of the local asset management industry’s performance against international best practice standards. Using a survey methodology developed by UK-based non-profit organisation, ShareAction, the report assesses asset managers against ambitious, but achievable, global best practices for responsible investment.

Just Share evaluated the 20 largest South African asset managers against 20 key standards across four themes:

  • Governance and stewardship,
  • Climate change,
  • Biodiversity, and
  • Social impacts.

We found that the local asset management industry is failing to adequately address the systemic risks that climate change, biodiversity loss, and inequality pose for investors and society.

The webinar offers investment professionals, trustees, and other stakeholders an opportunity to engage directly with these findings. Join us for insights into why asset managers are lagging in meeting global responsible investment best practice, and how they can integrate international human and labour rights frameworks into policies, due diligence, company engagement, and client reporting.

The webinar will explore what responsible investment means in the South African context and the shifts required to transition South Africa to an equitable, low-carbon economy.
