As a trainee researcher, Lara assists in research and advocacy across the organisation’s three core focus areas: Climate, Inequality, and Governance.
She holds an MPhil (awarded with distinction) in Sociology from the University of Cape Town, specialising in Theories of Justice and Inequality. Her research examined trade union perspectives on the just transition in South Africa, exploring the intersections of labour movements, climate justice, and alternatives to the privatisation of energy.
Before joining Just Share, Lara gained experience at various NGOs working on labour rights, climate change, and greenwashing. She is passionate about contributing to a more just and equitable society. Her research interests include the political economy of energy, the just transition, inequality, and climate justice.
