Len Verwey is a development economist and governance specialist who provides research support to the various Just Share programmes.
He worked for nine years as a researcher, senior researcher and research manager at Idasa, the seminal democracy organization, often with a focus on enhancing public budgeting in support of rights realization and good democratic governance.
After his time at Idasa he consulted on economic justice issues, whilst also working as a Senior Associate at the African Climate Finance Hub and as a research mentor with the Public Service Accountability Monitor.
He worked for the national DTIC and EDD as a senior economist for some years, before taking on the position of Head of Research at the Motsepe Foundation, prior to joining Just Share in 2024.
He holds Masters degrees in Economics and in English literature.
