Xolisa is a financial services professional with 17 years of work experience. He joined Sanlam Corporate as Head of Distribution on 1 April 2022. Prior to joining Sanlam Xolisa was faculty at the UCT Graduate School of Business (UCT GSB) teaching and supervising Masters student research in sustainable responsible investing. At UCT he served as a trustee and investment committee chair of the UCT Retirement Fund.
Xolisa is the former head of Africa for the UN-Supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). He has also held investment consulting roles at leading firms including Alexander Forbes, Absa Consultants & Actuaries and Independent Actuaries & Consultants.
Xolisa has a keen interest in development and sustainable finance. He has been the lead researcher for the 4 latest editions of the African Investing for Impact Barometer, a research partnership between UCT GSB and Riscura.
Xolisa holds a Masters in Development Finance from UCT. He is also a chartered development finance analyst (CDFA) and a certified environmental, social and governance analyst (CESGA).
